Ment ("the Service") is operated by Adriano Ernesto Lamilla Ycaza("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), gender, occupation, and family role you provide at sign-up.
- Profile & preferences: avatar, theme, locale, household membership.
- Financial data you enter: transactions, categories, budgets, savings goals, projects.
- Receipts & uploads: images you upload for AI receipt scanning.
- Technical data: device, browser, IP address, log and usage data.
Payment card details are collected directly by Paddle at checkout — we never see or store them.
2. How we use it
- Create your account and provide the Service (contract performance);
- Run AI receipt scanning and budgeting insights you've asked for (contract performance);
- Keep the Service secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interests);
- Provide customer support (contract performance);
- Improve the Service through aggregated, non-identifying analytics (legitimate interests);
- Send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing) (contract performance);
- Comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
3. Who we share it with
- Paddle.com Inc. — Merchant of Record for sales, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers — host the application and database.
- AI provider(s) — process receipt images and budgeting prompts on our behalf.
- Email provider — sends transactional email.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside your country. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. You can request deletion at any time (see "Your rights" below).
6. Your rights
Depending on your country, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- Have inaccurate data corrected;
- Have your data deleted ("right to erasure");
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Receive your data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on it;
- Complain to your local data-protection authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us through the in-app support menu. We'll respond within one month.
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, row-level access controls in the database, and access logging — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
